Welcome to Boston Legal Wiki.
The TV Show Boston Legal is an American legal drama and comedy created by David E. Kelley (a multi-Emmy award winning American writer, executive producer, and creator of TV Shows) and has been airing since October 3, 2004. Some consider it as a spin-off of also another long-running legal drama The Practice. Boston Legal follows the professional and personal lives of attorneys at the law firm of Crane, Poole & Schmidt. The scenes and characters are renowned for their whimsical, occasionally surreal comedic touches, as well as moments of seriousness.
Boston Legal has been nominated and awarded for numerous awards for a TV show.

5/13/08 "Boston Legal" will return for its fifth (and final) season of 13 episodes.
The series will shift to Monday's at 10:00/9:00c for its swan song, to be replaced by "The Bachelor" at midseason. McPherson says that creator David E. Kelley is expected to write most of the remaining episodes. Also due at midseason: the "Untitled Banks/Kutcher Project" will spell "Dancing With the Stars" cycles on Mondays while "Scrubs" and newcomer "The Goode Family" will fill the same void on Tuesdays. No time periods were specified for "Lost," "According to Jim" or "Primetime: What Would You Do?"

5/12/08 'Boston Legal' will return for a 5th Season !!!
The stalemate between ABC and "Boston Legal" creator David E. Kelley is headed to a resolution.
After intense negotiations, the network on Sunday reached an agreement with Kelley to bring "Legal" back in the fall. The network had originally intended to hold "Legal" for midseason.
The deal on "Legal" includes a reduced license fee for the show and is said to be subject to David E. Kelley Prods.' ability to make deals with the cast under the new fee. Like last year, cast reductions are likely. ABC has renewed Kelley's "Boston Legal" for a fifth season.
"Legal" will air in the fall, and it's believed ABC has the right to cut back its episode order on the show to 13, a person familiar with the discussions said.
The pact on "Legal" also opens the door for a series pickup of Kelley's drama pilot "Life on Mars."
The network had been zeroing in on a series order of the project starring Jason O'Mara, with "October Road" creators Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg coming in as executive producers and ABC Studios as a co-producer with 20th TV.
But such a deal had to be blessed by Kelley, who owns the rights to the property, an American version of the BBC series about a 21st century cop transported to the 1970s.
Now such a pact appears very likely.
This is the second time the fates of "Mars" and "Legal" have been tied together. Two years ago, ABC's "Mars" pickup helped clinch a renewal of "Legal."
Upon completion of the deal, "Life" is expected to be one of handful new additions to ABC's fall schedule, along with import "Scrubs" and the Ashton Kutcher-produced reality series "Opportunity Knocks."

"Boston Legal" also ranked No. 1 in its time slot among Men 25-54 (2.7/7).

The Verdict's In: "Boston Legal," from David E. Kelley Productions & Twentieth Television, to Join ION Television's Primetime Lineup
ION Television to Air Award-Winning Series Weeknights This Fall
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- ION Media Networks, Inc. (AMEX:ION) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Twentieth Television to air the David E. Kelley hit television series, "Boston Legal," on ION Television, beginning this Fall. The agreement marks a milestone in the network's commitment to popular and diverse entertainment.
'Boston Legal' will be to ION Television what Denny Crane is to Crane, Poole & Schmidt bold, outrageous and positively entertaining," said Brandon Burgess, Chairman and CEO, ION Media Networks. "Smart writing, with humor and heart, and an all-star cast, including James Spader, Candice Bergen and William Shatner, makes this one of the best shows on television. We are excited to bring 'Boston Legal' to millions of fans on the ION Television Network starting this Fall."
Led by an Emmy Award-winning cast, "Boston Legal" tells the professional and personal stories of a group of brilliant but often emotionally challenged attorneys. Fast-paced and wildly comedic, the series confronts social and moral issues, while its characters continually stretch the boundaries of the law. In making the announcement, Bob Cook, president and COO of Twentieth Television, stated, "We are excited that ION Television will be sharing with their viewers this Emmy Award-winning program, exemplifying the best in television writing and acting."
Back-to-back Emmy Award-winners James Spader and William Shatner play Alan Shore and Denny Crane, unlikely kindred spirits among the brigade of high-priced litigators at Crane, Poole & Schmidt. Five-time Emmy-winner Candice Bergen plays Shirley Schmidt, a founding partner of the firm, who helps bring order to the chaotic office. To help keep the quirky office staff in tow, Schmidt calls in Crane nemesis and senior partner Carl Sack (Emmy Award-winner John Larroquette) to Boston from the New York offices. Rounding out the cast since the series' inception are Rene Auberjonois, Monica Potter, Mark Valley and Julie Bowen.
Created by David E. Kelley, "Boston Legal" has regularly been a top 20 program on ABC and draws one of the most affluent audiences in television. Kelley and Bill D'Elia are executive producers. The series, which premiered October 3, 2004, airs on ABC and is produced by David E. Kelley Productions in association with Twentieth Century Fox Television.
"Boston Legal" has won five Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award and a Golden Globe. Crane, Poole & Schmidt will be open for business this Fall on ION Television.

David Kelly!!Are you listening? I'm fine with your liberal views and are also fine with it with a subtle dose of it in Boston Legal.
But I see the recent episodes and Alan's arguments in court are an absolute piss where he just goes on his liberal rhetoric ... regardless of the case at hand... Makes him look dumb.. I hope that this show really gets back to its charm.

I have a project for a class and would like to use a clip from Boston Legal. Does anyone know of an episode of Boston Legal where a client has been charged with murder and the client has testified at trial that he/she did not commit the murder, but after the testimony, the client privately admits to the lawyer that he/she lied and now admits that he/she intentionally planned and committed the murder before the end of the case and before the defense has not yet rested? It would be great if there is an episode of Boston Legal like this I can use.
