Barbara Little is the protective mother of Scott Little, the defendant in the high-profile Marcia Hooper murder trial. Barbara has a bitter relationship with her ex-husband, Michael Schiller, who, while on the witness stand, accuses Scott Little of having sexual desires for his mother. While examining her as a defense witness, Jeffrey Coho tries to put doubt in the jury's mind by suggesting that Barbara Little may have murdered Marcia Hooper. Although A.D.A. Jonathan Winant accuses Coho of staging the questions for dramatic effect, after the verdict is read, Barbara Little and her son have a private encounter (above) where it is revealed that she was the real murderer, killing the judge in a jealous rage.

Katey Sagal became a household name - at least as her character 'Peg Bundy' - during her long tenure on the sitcom Married With Children (1987-1997). After that series ended, Sagal spent several years as the voice of 'Turanga Leela' on the animated show Futurama, before landing another plum lead role on the sitcom 8 Simple Rules'(2002-5). Her recent work includes appearances on The Shield, Ghost Whisperer, and two episodes of Lost.
