Robert Wagner as Barry Goal in 2x26 [Spring Fever]
Played by Robert Wagner

Barry Goal is a senior partner at the Los Angeles branch of Crane, Poole & Schmidt, introduced in 2x26 [Spring Fever], when Denny Crane and Alan Shore visited that office. Denny introduced Barry to Alan as "Denny Crane - West, almost".

The business trip was ostensibly because Denny had some "business to do" in Los Angeles, which included signing off on some amendments Barry had made to Denny's living will. Barry presented the document for Alan to sign because the changes included granting Alan power of attorney - becoming Denny's "plug-puller". Alan refused to sign it because he hadn't been forewarned, but he later told Denny over dinner that he would agree to it.

In 2x27 [BL: Los Angeles], Barry joined Alan and Denny in representing reality television star Courtney Reese, who faced charges of attempted murder for shooting a paparazzi photographer. While Alan did the bulk of the courtroom work on the case, Barry and Denny mostly competed (in vain) for the attentions of their attractive client.

Robert Wagner
Robert WagnerWagner is best-known to many viewers as suave millionaire detective Jonathan Hart from the television series Hart to Hart (1979-84). But Wagner's career started in movies, and he was nominated for a Golden Globe for "Most Promising Newcomer" in 1953 for his role in Stars and Stripes Forever. He took his first starring role on TV in the series It Takes a Thief (1968-70), for which he received another Golden Globe nod.

While occasionally featuring in big movies such as The Towering Inferno (1974) and Midway (1976), Wagner's TV career really hit its stride in the '70s as he featured in Colditz (1973-74) and Switch (1975-78) before landing what would become his signature role on Hart to Hart, for which he received another four Golden Globe nominations. The role stayed with him long after the series ended, as he made several Hart to Hart TV movies in the '90s. In recent years, his spoofish turn as the evil sidekick in three Austin Powers films has re-introduced Wagner to a younger generation. Wagner also had a recurring role on ABC sitcom Hope & Faith and a small part in threatrical release Hoot.
