Joanna MillerCase: The clients were arrested for prostitution.
CP&S Representation: Alan ShoreOpposing Counsel: A.D.A. Frank GinsbergPresiding: Judge Brian HooperResult: The charges were dismissed by Judge Hooper.
Notes: - Prior to this case, Jerry had been jailed for assaulting a police officer. After being stopped for driving in the carpool lane with a blow-up doll in the passenger seat, Jerry went crazy when the police attempted to impound his doll. (That case was not resolved on the show).
- Jerry kept the doll, "Patricia", as a substitute for real female companionship. Ms. Miller was a retired sexual surrogate convinced by Alan (an ex-client) to come out of retirement and assist Jerry with his intimacy issues.
- A.D.A. Ginsberg had recently instituted what Alan called "a city-wide crackdown on a broad assortment of what he considers immoral sexual activity". Somehow, the police were tipped off and burst in on Jerry and Joanna's first private session.
- Judge Hooper ruled that surrogacy was a legitimate treatment for some sexual issues and that Ms. Miller's former membership in the International Professional Surrogates Assocation legitimized the argument that she and Jerry had been in a therapy session.
