Case 3x03.1
The Marcia Hooper Murder Trial (Part 2 of 5)
Episodes: Episode 3x03 [Desperately Seeking Shirley]
Client: Scott Little
Case: The client was accused of murdering Judge Marcia Hooper.
CP&S Representation: Jeffrey Coho, Denise Bauer, Claire Simms
Opposing Counsel: A.D.A. Jonathan Winant
Presiding: Judge Harvey Cooper
Witnesses: Judge Brian Hooper, Dr. Zachary Simon, Lincoln Meyer, Barbara Little, Michael Schiller, Detective Frank Richmond
Notes: Events in this episode:
- Jeffrey Coho visited Judge Brian Hooper in his chambers and confronted him with the possibility that his wife had other illicit lovers besides Scott Little, which if true, would implicate them as well. It's not clear where Jeffrey had gotten this information or if he made it up to see Hooper's reaction (which was one of total outrage).
- Jeffrey visited Scott's therapist, Dr. Simon, who revealed that he'd given the incriminating video to Brian Hooper - not to the police - on the afternoon before Marcia Hooper was killed.
- Jeffrey and Denise asked Scott to let them access all of Dr. Simon's records of their sessions, but Scott vehemently denied the request.
- Denise interviewed the Hoopers' neighbor Lincoln Meyer, who confirmed that Mrs. Hooper did indeed have many lovers but that Scott was her "favorite".
- Claire Simms, who apparently decided to help with the case after all, learned that Scott's father, Michael Schiller, was on the prosecution's witness list. Jeffrey and Clair interviewed Schiller, with Barbara Little present, but they learned little more than that he and his ex-wife despised each other.
