Case 3x07.2
Lincoln Meyer's slander suit
Episode: 3x07 [Trick Or Treat]
Client: Jeffrey Coho
Case: The client was sued for slander.
CP&S Representation: Brad Chase
Opposing Counsel: Lincoln Meyer
Presiding: Judge Gilbert Potts
Result: Judge Potts dismissed the suit.
Notes:
- Lincoln Meyer, a witness in the Scott Little murder trial, sued Coho for suggesting that he was a pedophile and might have been the murderer.
- Although Coho had immunity for anything he said in the courtroom during the trial, he had repeated the accusation to the news media.
- Judge Potts ruled that the comments Coho had made to the press were only in reference to matters that had occurred made in the courtroom.
- Judge Potts further commented that Meyer appeared to be "seriously disturbed".
- Later, as Judge Potts approached his car, Meyer hit him over the head with a shovel.
