Matthew Calder is the ex-husband of Crane, Poole & Schmidt client Sharon Brant, who tried to prevent her from moving out of state with their twin boys in episode 1x01 [Head Cases]. Calder agreed to let his family move only after being extorted by Alan Shore. Alan arranged to have a prostitute friend meet Matthew in a bar. Later, after seeking Matthew out at his place of work, Alan threatened to "start printing copies" of explicit photographs from the encounter.
