Randall Kirk is the homeless man who takes offense at being ignored by
Denny Crane and
Alan Shore in
2x09 [Gone] and throws a stone, hitting Denny in the head. Denny responds by firing a paintball gun and hitting Kirk in the forehead. Kirk hires
Attorney Warren Peters to represent him in a lawsuit for the assault, and when Peters resigns from the case, Alan offers to take over. Alan tries to convince Denny to settle, but he can't and realizes the matter could harm their friendship if they end up in court. Still wanting to help Kirk, he writes a check from his own account for $75,000 and tries to pass it off as a settlement check. Kirk sees through the ruse but still accepts the check.
