Dr. Brant wanted to move to New York with her children to take a new job, but her ex-husband Matthew Calder refused to allow her to move out of state. She was scheduled to have a hearing with Edwin Poole on the day he had his breakdown, and her case was taken over by Sally Heep and Brad Chase.
