Sophia Wilson was the desperate client in 3x10 [The Nutcrackers] whose 16-year-old daughter Claire was anorexic and refused to receive treatment. Sophia was a waitress at a restaurant frequented by Denny Crane and Alan Shore. She asked Denny for help when Claire sued for emancipation. When Denny's tactics on the case seemed to be failing, Sophia turned to Alan for help.

Kathleen Wilhoite is a talented actor and musician whose film credits go back to 1983, shortly after she finished high school. Her film career includes a role in Bad Influence (1990), with James Spader while her television credits include recurring roles on LA Law (1993-4), ER (1994-2002), Mad About You (1996), and Gilmore Girls (2004-6). She also appeared on an episode of David E. Kelley's Ally McBeal (1998). Wilhoite's talents extend to the stage, where she wrote and starred in the autobiographical one-woman show, Stop Yellin'.
