Played by John Hartmann

Tom Raulston was Daniel Post's friend with an inoperable brain tumor in 3x01 [Can't We All Get A Lung?]. The two men had met at their oncologist's office and had apparently made a deal for Tom to give his lungs to Daniel (and die in the process) in exchange for Daniel paying for his daughter Megan's college education. Daniel was tried for violating illegal organ-trafficking but was found by the jury to be not guilty. After the trial, Daniel told his fiancee, Denise Bauer, that he and Tom were "going on a little vacation" for five or six weeks, but he would not reveal the destination. In episode 3x07 [Trick Or Treat], Denise learned that Daniel had died during lung transplant surgery in Brazil, an occasion that probably spelled the end for Tom as well.

One of Hartmann's first television credits was in an episode of Spin City, with Michael J. Fox. He also had an appearance on Bill D'Elia's show Judging Amy.
