The laconic Judge Willard Reese first appeared as the judge in the cat-on-life-support hearing in 2x15 [Smile]. In 2x19 [Stick It], he presided over the arraignment and sentencing of Denise Bauer's erstwhile boyfriend Scott Warner, who had been arrested for impersonating a police officer. Unimpressed by Scott's explanation that he was just trying to make the world a better place, Judge Reese increased his original sentence. In 2x21 [Word Salad Day], Judge Reese presided over the case of the video game death and ruled that there was not enough evidence to get past summary judgment.

In Season 3, Judge Reese has presided over two trials so far. He presided over Missy and Ivan Tiggs' post-nuptial debate in 3x03 [Desperately Seeking Shirley] and the wrongful termination "scientology" lawsuit against Jerry Espenson in 3x05 [Whose God Is It Anyway?].
