1. RE: Friendship

Alan Shore's soul is friendship with the feeling, loyalty and trust that goes with it. This is the strength of this show that feeling is important. It is the interaction of the feelings portrayed by the characters that makes this show work. This "freindship" scene is an affirmation by example that men can and in some cases, do, relate with each other on a level deeper than "how's it goin' man" .."great".. "see you"...gesture, gesture. It is an illustration that we as men have to begin to learn how to be friends. Alan Shore's parts often are the surgical knife which cuts to the core of the feeling that is implicit in the everyday interactions between men; feelings which non of them will speak outwardly to, nor, in the least, admit to.More men need to see and know that deep, close, friendship, on a feeling level is ok. It is more than ok. It is a treasure that one can never buy nor replace when lost. It is the bread of the soul. Do you find this valuable? |
